Top tips to keep your skin healthy and glowing
Practise body brushing
On dry skin, before a shower or bath, start from the soles of your feet and brush upwards, always towards your heart.
Wash your skin gently
Long and hot showers or baths strip your body of its natural moisture layer; in the long term which leads to dry, flaky skin. Limit your washing time, use a gentle body wash instead of harsh soap and gently pat your skin dry with a towel.
Moisturise regularly
Apply moisturiser after every shower or bath. Massage it into your skin in broad strokes, boosting your circulation and ensuring your whole skin is covered. Moisturising is essential for healthy skin, as it makes skin appear firmer and more glowing, as well as providing a protective layer to prevent damage to the skin cells.
Prevent sun damage
Keep out of the sun as much as possible to avoid harmful UV rays or, if you cannot avoid being in the sun, apply a high factor suncream liberally every two hours.
Get a good night’s sleep
Have a minimum of eight hours sleep a night and this will allow your skin cells to rest and repair themselves overnight. Sleep is essential for healthy, glowing skin.
Keep your skin hydrated
Aim to drink two litres of water a day, little and often, as your skin is the first organ to suffer from dehydration which can cause sagging and lines.
Choose fabrics that are kind to your skin
Natural cotton and silk allow your skin the freedom to breathe and are less likely to irritate sensitive skin.
Work up a glow
Regular exercise helps invigorate your blood flow, supplying your skin with nutrients and oxygen and making it look healthier
